X Greetings! You are not currently logged in, but please don't let that stop you from voting up any videos you like. :)

We're launching a series of interviews with artists and video creators who are known favorites to Sifters.

I'm really happy to announce that our first interview will be with Jack Conte and Nataly Dawn from the musical duo Pomplamoose.

If you have any questions that you would like me to ask Nataly or Jack- please post them here - and while you're at it grab their album on iTunes. I picked it up a few days ago and am liking it very much. Pomplamoose - Pomplamoose VideoSongs

Also, we're looking for ideas for other people to interview - doesn't have to be music related. I've asked the "The Website is Down" people- I'd love to hear how they put their stuff together.

In the spirit of goodwill and The Order of Brotherly Brownnose, we suggest a reminiscent ejaculatory upvote of a user's pquequed package, as a once and never to be repeated in an as eloquent and acceptable a gesture, action.
For example: I got all wiggly and decided Kulpims deserved some love, and proceeded to blindly upvote EVERYTHING, but only in his non-published area known as pequeuedina (hence the bunch of stuff of his all in the front like he's some god of the fucking universe!!)

I attribute the action to and thank the same for the inspiration, my fellow sifter Blankfist...and westy, and all of you who want to see my motherfucking "P" GONE GOOOODAMMMMMIT!!!!!!

ahem....

Swell group we have here tonight....Have fun publishing the ramblings of the deranged or otherwise distracted

kulpims, or Roman as he's called in real life, has had to go through a lot to get to this coveted emerald. Besides getting banned for self-linking, he gets attacked by fellow sifters for being from Eastern Europe and being a dope fiend.

Having overcome these obstacles with a great sense of humour and a great taste in videos and music (especially jazz), it gives me great pleasure to congratulate you on reaching this milestone! Kulpims is a really nice guy who tells a lot of great stories, everything from dancing naked on tables in bars, having 10+ stray cats in his backyard or organising music festivals in his native country. Roman is also the unofficial *dupeof king of the sift and keeps everything running smoothly by downvoting blankfist's cat fart vids (I told you he had good taste).

Whoever said drug addicts are unmotivated eh? CONGRATS to one of my favourite sifters and make sure ya'll visit his pqueue!

The Jazz & Blues channel suddenly and dramatically was left without an administrator only a couple of days after I joined VideoSift. Naturally I took this as an omen, and proceeded to sift vigorously towards the day I could take on my alotted burden. That day finally arrived last week and I am proud to present a slightly refreshed channel.

First of all I have changed the horrid neon green color to a mellow indigo. According to Duke Ellington's Mood Indigo, this colour is "bluer than blue", so it should encompass both jazz and blues.

I have also added a list of jazz internet resources on the right, such as good music blogs and music archives. It's kind of meager so far, so I would appreciate your tips on what should be put there.

With regards to content, I have composed a short channel description that should cover what fits in the channel. I will in general not accept videos that only features small snippets of jazz/blues in samples, such as hiphop videos, but I might be persuaded by sufficient whining. The channel should be a resource for people to discover music they might want to check out, and I don't want it bogged down by hiphop and trance. If you think you don't like jazz, this channel could possibly change your mind a little bit. I'll let Pat Metheny explain:

The nice people he's talking about are right here on VideoSift! The amount of jazz sifters has grown dramatically recently, and they are all happy to help you along.

You may have noticed that I talk more about jazz than blues, but I promise to be evenhanded between the two. Even though jazz is my main obsession, I can appreciate a bit of soulful blues once in a while!

Orn is a quality sifter, and that's a fact. He posts a lot of obscure music (mostly jazz), absurd comedy and atheist propaganda

He's also a skilled musician who plays the trombone and pretends to know how to play the accordian. I'm hoping to see him perform in concert some day.

Many congrats to this nice guy, I'm sure he'll make a quality channel! His PQ has become quite bloated, so head on over and discover some hidden gems.

Musician and sifter Fusionaut has finally bagged his 100th star point, and is thus inducted into the coolest club on the sift: The Gold-100 League!

Fusionaut is one of the sift's resident jazz enthusiasts, and he supplies the jazz channel with stuff rooted in the legacy of Miles Davis' later psychedelic stuff, with a special love for that crackpot Chick Corea. But he also shares some hauntingly beautiful music and has been kind enough to give us what has become my favourite bravo sift:
http://www.videosift.com/video/Recreation-of-1913-Nijinsky-Choreography-of-Rite-of-Spring

But beneath his hipster exterior I suspect there is hidden a long time geek, due to his many scifi sifts. That could also explain his additional love of Jethro Tull, which is among the geekier music of the world. Fusionaut also does not shirk from posting the mindless drivel we all secretly treasure at the end of a long work day, and if you've got a beef with that he's got one thing and one thing only to say to you.

Last, but not least: He shares my deep hatred of Kenny G. That alone makes him a good person in my book, and deserving of a ceremonious pqueue visit. Congratulations!

Clean the piano for cobwebs and break out the horns, and get the music groovin'! Jacobrecker is now in posession of a shiny gold star, a mere two weeks after he got his silver.

I first noticed jacobrecker because of his fabulous jazz and bravo sifts, but I have afterwards discovered his love of comedy and plain weird stuff. He also serves some genuinely funny comments. His personal queue is a veritable goldmine if you want to discover new jazz, chinese music or amazingly talented recorder players.

I don't know what to make of his avatar, though. Is he a campaigner for interracial marriages? I'm afraid I can't condone that, jacobrecker. But if you keep those fine jazz videos coming, I'm willing to look past it.

Haldaug is the newest member of the prestigious Gold-100 rank. No doubt he'll promote plenty of evil vids featuring equally evil talking skulls from now on.

Major congrats to you, Haldaug. Be sure to check out his queue and PQ. His PQ requires some attention btw .

Health and long life to ya.
